Hi! I'm Tammy Beasley, registered dietitian and certified sports and eating disorder specialist. After years of study and working with clients, I created Rev It Up Fitness. This unique program will help empower you to change from the inside out by taking simple, practical steps at your own pace. With Rev it Up, you'll find hope in your body's ability to change, feel confident in yourself and your body again, and live well—strong and balanced—through foundation, food, fluid, and fitness principles.
Your ability to read your body’s hunger and fullness signals, the way your emotions support or sabotage your fitness efforts, and how you think about your body and its progress are all part of the foundation that can make or break your efforts. Being able to distinguish between physical hunger and emotional hunger is a powerful tool that relieves food guilt and helps change your relationship with food from a constant battle to a trusting partnership.
Why do diets fail? An easy “good and bad” food list takes the ownership away from you, and any success achieved is usually temporary. So you quit. The problem? You have not changed the patterns and habits that got you there in the first place. Rev it Up! teaches you to throw out the good/bad lists and take ownership of your food choices, which leads to ownership of your body’s successes. That's what makes the difference in the long run!
Is water a factor in the process of metabolism itself? You bet! Water plays a role in the body’s ability to metabolize, or burn, stored fat. Next benefit? Water helps maintain good muscle and skin tone. Did you know that water gives the muscle its natural ability to contract? A muscle that contracts is a muscle at work. A muscle at work means energy burned. Energy burned means your metabolism is revved up and doing its job!
Rev It Up! is a new approach to living well. It first looks at metabolism— how the body works— and why the traditional way of “doing diets” and joining a gym just doesn't work in the long run. Rev It Up! is a program that initiates one change at a time, creating a different way of thinking about the body and its relationship with not only food but also exercise. It encourages each person to own the changes he or she creates– and most importantly, maintain those changes.
Rev It Up! is a program that approaches wellness by looking at metabolism first – HOW the body works-and WHY the traditional way of “doing diets” isn’t enough. Is the educational component of Rev It Up! new in the truths that are presented? Not really-to live well, an individual must fuel and move the body appropriately. But is it new in its approach? YES! The body as a car, metabolism as the engine, and food and fluid as the fuel– with all the specific nuances of car maintenance and parts, from the fuel gauge, rear-view mirror, battery charge, oil change, and more. The car analogy runs throughout the entire program, which is progressive from week to week, building on the principles learned in a step-by-step approach. Consider this program your driver’s manual, full of instructions, suggested tools to use, and reminders to guide you along the road. You CAN understand what your body’s signals mean and how to respond. You can KNOW the signs of wear and tear, when to slow down or speed up, and when a tune-up is necessary. And you can keep your body in good, even excellent, condition to keep performing at its best. Rev It Up! is user-friendly, simple in presentation but complex in its power to change a person’s perspective of living well!
